Serious Crime Act Appeals Order published

The Serious Crime Act 2007 (Appeals under Section 24) Order 2008 (SI 2008/1863) has been published. The Order, which comes into force on 18 August 2008, sets out the procedure for appeals and related matters on costs in relation to serious crime prevention orders made in the Crown Court under Part 1 of the Serious Crime Act 2007. "Serious crime" for these purposes includes various trade mark- and copyright-related offences, as well as offences relating to online security; for more information on the relevant provisions of the Act, see Legal update, Serious Crime Act 2007 receives Royal Assent.
