Legislation taking effect on 1 October 2007: IPIT & Communications

Legislation relating to trade marks, data protection, liability of internet service providers and disclosure of information for use in civil proceedings will take effect on the next twice-yearly standard commencement date of 1 October 2007. Among other things, the legislation changes the system of relative-grounds examination for UK trade mark applications and creates new exemptions from liability for internet service providers for offences relating to the stirring up of religious hatred.
