Commission publishes progress report on ICT strategy

On 18 April 2008, the European Commission published a "mid-term review" report on the progress of its i2010 strategy, the EU policy framework for the information society and media. The report highlights developments in the area of information and communication technologies (ICT). In particular, it notes the increased internet usage and broadband take-up in the EU. The report identifies the Commission's future priority actions in this area, including progressing the proposed reforms to the telecoms regulatory framework.
